1. Introduction

EPF Tracker is an Android application that helps users check their Employee Provident Fund (EPF) balance, view passbook details, and track PF contributions conveniently from their mobile device. The app uses a WebView to connect to the official EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organisation) portal for retrieving account information.

Important Disclaimer: EPF Tracker is an independent, third-party application developed by Pavan Rangani. It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, authorized by, or in any way officially connected with the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), the Ministry of Labour and Employment, or any department of the Government of India. The official EPFO website is available at epfindia.gov.in.

2. Information Collection

EPF Tracker does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) on any external server. The app does not require its own account creation, login, or registration.

When you enter your Universal Account Number (UAN) in the app, it is stored locally on your device only using AES-256 encryption. Your UAN is never transmitted to any server controlled by the developer.

The WebView within the app connects directly to the official EPFO portal. Any data you enter on the EPFO portal (such as UAN, password, or captcha) is communicated directly between your device and the EPFO servers. The developer has no access to this data.

The following non-personal information may be collected automatically through integrated third-party services:

Device type and model
Operating system version
App usage statistics and crash reports
Advertising identifiers (for ad personalization)

3. Permissions Used

EPF Tracker requests the following Android permissions to function properly:

INTERNET — Required to connect to the official EPFO portal via WebView, serve advertisements, and send anonymous analytics data.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Required to send reminder notifications for checking your EPF balance or tracking contribution updates.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Required to reschedule reminder notifications after your device restarts, ensuring you continue to receive them without reopening the app.

4. Advertising

EPF Tracker displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device advertising identifiers and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your preferences and Google's ad settings.

You can manage your ad personalization preferences through your device's Google Settings or by visiting Google Ads Settings.

5. Data Storage

EPF Tracker stores data locally on your device only. Specifically:

Your UAN (if saved) is encrypted using AES-256 encryption and stored in local device storage. It is never sent to any server owned or operated by the developer.
App preferences and settings are saved locally on your device.
No EPF balance data, passbook information, or personal financial details are stored or cached by the app beyond the current session.

The WebView connects exclusively to the official EPFO portal. The developer does not operate any intermediate servers and does not intercept, store, or relay any data exchanged between your device and the EPFO portal.

6. Third-Party Services

EPF Tracker integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Google AdMob — Used to display advertisements. Google Privacy Policy
Firebase Analytics — Used to collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to improve app performance. Firebase Privacy Policy
EPFO Portal — The app's WebView connects to the official EPFO portal (epfindia.gov.in) for EPF balance and passbook information. This connection is governed by EPFO's own terms and privacy policy.

7. Children's Privacy

EPF Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 13. The app is designed for adult users who hold EPF accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at pavanupwork2021@gmail.com so we can take appropriate action.

This app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

8. Data Security

We take data security seriously and implement the following measures:

UAN data stored locally is encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption.
All connections to the EPFO portal are made over secure HTTPS.
No sensitive user data is transmitted to or stored on developer-controlled servers.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
